After the loss of a second income, Sebastião is 5 months behind on rent and has a termination letter from the landlord.

When my hours were cut in half in March, Sebastião fell 5 months behind on rent. Last Thursday a termination letter was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $750.
The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by June, the family must leave.
There are two young children at home. Moving would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
Sebastião has started working night deliveries, and is applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $750 goes:
• Rent arrears (5 months): $430
• First month of rent as a buffer: $250
• Utilities in arrears: $70
