Sarah was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor in June. The surgeon at Birmingham General Hospital recommended a partial thyroidectomy, and She is scheduled for August. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,700, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $1,350 short.
my daughter has been in and out of Birmingham General Hospital since June. The doctors say a benign brain tumor will get worse without a partial thyroidectomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,700 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Sarah struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
