Help Sarah keep the Open Hands Pantry pantry stocked
The Open Hands Pantry pantry in Kinondoni is running low just as demand rises; $250 will stock it for 6 weeks.

Since 2021, our volunteer team has run Open Hands Pantry every Sunday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 22 families, and now we feed 165 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 57% this summer, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 14 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Kinondoni market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $250 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $175
• Baby formula and diapers: $40
• Refrigeration and electricity: $35
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Sending good thoughts, Sarah. Shared this with my family. Love from Lviv!
Rooting for you. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We're a small family in Rome but we're thinking of you. Thinking of Kinondoni
Sending strength, Sarah. More neighborhoods should do this. My cousin had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Blessings.
Wishing you peace, Sarah. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Wish I lived closer to Cairo so I could bring a meal.
I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. After 17 years in retail I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
