Since 2019, our volunteer team has run the Thursday Table every Tuesday from the back of a community center. We started with 9 families, and now we feed 295 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 41% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 13 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Noida market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $450 goes:
• Refrigeration and electricity: $25
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $220
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $205
Thank you for reading my story.

Good news. Because of your gifts ($30 in total) the plan for refrigeration and electricity is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

So sorry you're going through this, Sangeetha. Hope this works out for you. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money.
