The electricity and water account is 3 months behind. Samira received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on November unless $150 is paid. She had never been late before my partner leaving the household.
Samira called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $10 first, which isn't available.
The household includes an elderly mother, and going through the rainy season without electricity and water isn't safe. The children would have no light to study by.
Samira is working on getting back on her feet, and wants to pay it forward once steady.
Every dollar goes to the account in Samira's name; a copy of the paid bill will be shared in the updates.
