Help Sami keep his home - 3 months behind on rent
A car accident left Sami short on rent for 3 months; help us stay in our home.
🇲🇦 Morocco977 views
When the restaurant closed in March, Sami fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Friday a termination letter was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $700.
The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by July, the family must leave.
There are three school-aged children at home. Moving would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
Sami has started working evenings as a cleaner, and is applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $700 goes:
• Late fees and court costs: $30
• Utilities in arrears: $35
• Rent arrears (3 months): $635

Hope it all works out, Tariq. This could happen to any of us. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Thinking of Mohammedia.
I hope things turn around soon. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Thinking of Mohammedia.
rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps. Greetings from Thủ Đức.
So sorry you're going through this. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it
thinking of you and your family, Tariq. Shared it with a few friends. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Greetings from Poitiers.
Praying for you, Tariq. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better.
