Salim is facing cervical cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Salim was diagnosed with cervical cancer in June. The oncology team at Likoni Cancer Centre has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in September. He will be away from work for about 6 weeks. Salim is 57, worked as a taxi driver until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Likoni Cancer Centre 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $1,450 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $870 • Scans and lab work: $210 • Transport to Likoni Cancer Centre: $100 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $80 • Household costs while unable to work: $190 Every share and every dollar helps. - Mwangi

        • Sending strength, Mwangi. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Greetings from Birmingham
