Help Salim move out of an unsafe apartment this Tuesday
A short, concrete way to help: a few hours of lifting and loading in Nairobi.

After my landlord sold the building, I found a safe, affordable apartment in Nairobi, and the lease starts on Tuesday. I have a teenager and a toddler, a few pieces of furniture and no money for movers.
I'm hoping for 3-4 helpers for about three hours. If you have a van or pickup, that would help enormously - I'll cover fuel.
The old place is on the second floor and the new place has just one flight of stairs. We'll do it in two trips. Lunch and cold drinks are on me.
I know this is a lot to ask of strangers. I'd be happy to share references from my landlord and my employer.
Thank you so much.

Keep going. Shared this with my family. Thinking of Nairobi.
Thinking of you, Salim. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. All the best
Stay strong, Salim. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. I hope December is when things finally get easier. Love from Naples
So sorry you're going through this, Salim. Shared it with a few friends. I have a 10 year old who wants to send good wishes too.
Take care, Salim. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Take care.
