Help Sakda keep his home - 2 months behind on rent
A notice to vacate arrived last week. Sakda needs $850 to clear the arrears and stay housed in Bangkok.

When my hours were cut in half in April, Sakda fell 2 months behind on rent. Last Wednesday a notice to vacate was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $850.
The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by July, the family must leave.
There are three school-aged children at home. Moving would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
Sakda has started working two part-time jobs, and is applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $850 goes:
• Rent arrears (2 months): $600
• Late fees and court costs: $55
• Utilities in arrears: $60
• First month of rent as a buffer: $135
With deep gratitude,
Anong

Hope it all works out, Anong. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did.
is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Sakda.
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. rent arrears (2 months) comes first ($600) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Ask me anything else.
Sending strength, Anong. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. I'm in construction myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you.
Stay strong, Anong. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I'm in logistics myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Blessings.
Stay strong. Hope this works out for you. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. God bless.
Thinking of you and your family, Anong. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Love from Newport
