Ruma, my mother, passed away on 9 September after a road accident. She was 62 years old. She was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance.
The funeral home has given us a quote of $550 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 29 September.
I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Ruma to have a dignified farewell.
Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers.
Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to a neighborhood youth program.
Where the $550 goes:
• Funeral home services and casket: $290
• Cemetery plot and burial fees: $210
• Transport of the deceased: $40
• Memorial gathering for the family: $10
