Sade was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in April. The oncology team at Enugu University Hospital has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in July. She will be away from work for about 5 weeks. Sade is 48, worked as a nurse until April, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Enugu University Hospital 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $1,300 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $720 • Scans and lab work: $135 • Transport to Enugu University Hospital: $155 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $50 • Household costs while unable to work: $240 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
