Saad was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor in July. The surgeon at Rawalpindi University Hospital recommended a craniotomy, and He is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,150, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $800 short. my father has been in and out of Rawalpindi University Hospital since July. The doctors say a benign brain tumor will get worse without a craniotomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,150 is more than we can find. While we wait, Saad struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. The recovery period is expected to take about 3 weeks. During that time Saad won't be able to look after the children alone, so the costs keep growing. I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section. Where the $800 goes: • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $390 • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $40 • Physiotherapy sessions: $80 • Hospital stay (4 nights): $230 • Travel and lodging for the family: $60 Thank you for reading my story.
