Help Ruby restart a phone repair counter in Birmingham after a break-in
A phone repair counter in Birmingham needs help replacing a soldering station and testing tools after a break-in.
🇬🇧 Birmingham, England, United Kingdom2,941 views
For fifteen years I have run a phone repair counter in Birmingham. In March, a break-in took a soldering station and testing tools. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Saturday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 3 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $2,400 goes:
• Replacing a soldering station and testing tools: $1,450
• Initial stock: replacement parts: $750
• Shop repairs and licensing: $200
Thanks for reading all this.

thanks for sharing this. Looking forward to the next update. After 21 years in hospitality I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Thinking of Birmingham!
Best of luck. Your post was clear and honest. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Take care.
Thinking of you and your family, Ruby. Small businesses are the heart of Birmingham. Hope you're open again soon. My neighbor in Ottawa donated after I showed her your page. God bless.

Sending love, Ruby. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. God bless.
