Roman was diagnosed with a torn ligament that needs reconstruction in June. The surgeon at Hamilton Orthopedic Institute recommended gallbladder removal, and He is scheduled for September. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $10,750, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $5,400 short.
my son has been in and out of Hamilton Orthopedic Institute since June. The doctors say a torn ligament that needs reconstruction will get worse without gallbladder removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $10,750 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Roman struggles with daily life and can't walk without help. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 8 weeks. During that time Roman won't be able to walk without help, so the costs keep growing.
