Vijay passed away on 17 June; we are raising $650 for a respectful funeral in Mumbai.

Vijay, my uncle, passed away on 17 June after a short illness. He was 55 years old. He was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance.
The funeral home has given us a quote of $650 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 1 July.
I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Vijay to have a dignified farewell.
Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers.
Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to a local food bank.
Where the $650 goes:
• Transport of the deceased: $95
• Funeral home services and casket: $500
• Memorial gathering for the family: $55
Thanks for being kind about this.
- Rohit

Take care, Rohit. Hope this works out for you. I went through something like this 5 years ago and strangers helped me out
Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Rohit!
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. transport of the deceased comes first ($95) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Fair thing to want to know.
Thinking of you, Rohit. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Take care.
good luck. Your post was clear and honest. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend.
Good luck. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Love from Liverpool.
Wishing you peace, Rohit. Hope you get there. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry
wishing you peace, Rohit. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Sent it to 33 people at work. Blessings.
Shared this with my family. Love from Boulogne-Billancourt.
thinking of you and your family, Rohit. I hope things turn around soon. We're a small family in Limerick but we're thinking of you.
Hang in there. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My brother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Wish I lived closer to Latina so I could bring a meal. Love from São Paulo.
