Help Roberto get through 5 hard months with four children
Roberto and four children need a bridge to stability after a sudden redundancy.
🇧🇷 Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil1,070 views
After a sudden redundancy in December, I'm now raising four children on my own. I work as a retail cashier, but my income doesn't cover rent, childcare and groceries.
I'm retraining as a teaching assistant in the evenings, which will triple my income by March, but I need to bridge the gap until then.
Some weeks I skip meals so my children can eat. I have never asked anyone for help like this before, and I'm doing it for them.
Once I finish my course, I'll pay it forward.
Every cent is accounted for. I'll share a simple monthly breakdown.
Where the $1,400 goes:
• Rent top-up: $670
• Childcare and after-school care: $240
• Groceries and school meals: $220
• Course fees and exam costs: $270
If you're reading this, thank you.

Good luck, Roberto. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Take care.
Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Roberto
The list at the bottom is the whole picture. rent top-up is the biggest at $670. Let me know if you want more detail.
Rooting for you, Roberto. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. Blessings.
praying for you. Your post was clear and honest. After 10 years in construction I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Thinking of Niterói.
Hang in there, Roberto. This could happen to any of us. I hope March is when things finally get easier. Greetings from Madina!
I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. Love from Miami!
