Tokyo
Rin was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in July. The oncology team at Tokyo University Hospital has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 3 weeks. Rin is 26, worked as a shop owner until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Tokyo University Hospital 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $2,200 goes: • Transport to Tokyo University Hospital: $690 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $510 • Scans and lab work: $1,000 Thanks for reading all this. - Ayumi

  1. Quick update: $1,269 raised so far (58%). we've started the first stage. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($1,259 in total) the plan for scans and lab work is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  • hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. After 23 years in hospitality I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Thinking of Tokyo.

Sure. The biggest one is transport to Tokyo University Hospital, $690. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. It helps to be asked.
