Help Richard replace the transmission and return to work
Richard drives for a living in Takoradi, and a broken transmission has stopped all income for 6 weeks.

I make my living with my taxi. 6 weeks ago the transmission failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $150. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my wife and our newborn. Before the breakdown I worked twelve hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next three months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update.
Where the $150 goes:
• transmission replacement (parts): $75
• Labor charges: $25
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $30
• Towing and inspection: $20
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

small businesses are the heart of Takoradi. Hope you're open again soon. Sent it to 19 people at work. Blessings.
Can I help in a way that isn't money? I'm near Takoradi
Thank you. If you're in Takoradi I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Thanks, that means a lot.
Sending strength, Richard. Hope this works out for you. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too
Best of luck, Richard. This could happen to any of us. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.
So sorry you're going through this, Richard. Hope the shop reopens soon. I'm in public service myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Love from Saint Petersburg.
