Help Ricardo keep the Bread & Beans Kitchen pantry stocked
Help keep a free food pantry open for students and shift workers in Madrid.

Since 2021, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Saturday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 28 families, and now we feed 385 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 30% this school holidays, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 19 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Madrid market and keep every receipt.
Each $35 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $1,100 goes:
• Baby formula and diapers: $180
• Refrigeration and electricity: $170
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $750
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
Updates from Ricardo
Thank you all. We're at 37% now ($408). I'm honestly stunned. we've booked the dates and paid the deposit.
20% there. the plan for rice, beans, flour and oil is now scheduled. Thank you.
