Renata was diagnosed with a herniated spinal disc in May. The surgeon at Madrid Orthopedic Institute recommended hip replacement surgery, and She is scheduled for September. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $3,850, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $2,700 short.
my wife has been in and out of Madrid Orthopedic Institute since May. The doctors say a herniated spinal disc will get worse without hip replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $3,850 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Renata struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 10 weeks. During that time Renata won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.
