After a thyroid nodule that needs removal, Renata was cleared for cataract surgery, but the bill is more than we can manage.

Renata was diagnosed with a thyroid nodule that needs removal in May. The surgeon at Madrid Community Hospital recommended cataract surgery, and She is scheduled for July. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $3,350, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $2,500 short.
my wife has been in and out of Madrid Community Hospital since May. The doctors say a thyroid nodule that needs removal will get worse without cataract surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $3,350 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Renata struggles with daily life and can't drive. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 8 weeks. During that time Renata won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.

• Hospital stay (3 nights): $1,400
• Physiotherapy sessions: $400
• Post-operative medication: $130
• Travel and lodging for the family: $250
