Rebecca was diagnosed with a large ovarian cyst in June. The surgeon at Ho Community Hospital recommended valve repair surgery, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,400, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $1,100 short.
my wife has been in and out of Ho Community Hospital since June. The doctors say a large ovarian cyst will get worse without valve repair surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,400 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Rebecca struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Rebecca won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing.
