Help Rashidi through 8 rounds of treatment for cervical cancer
Rashidi is facing cervical cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.
🇰🇪 Kenya226 views
Rashidi was diagnosed with cervical cancer in February. The oncology team at Kasarani University Hospital has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in May. He will be away from work for about 10 weeks.
Rashidi is 43, worked as a bus conductor until February, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Kasarani University Hospital 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,650 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $930
• Scans and lab work: $250
• Transport to Kasarani University Hospital: $65
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $75
• Household costs while unable to work: $330
