Help Rami keep the the Sunday Shelf pantry stocked
Help keep a free food pantry open for families facing hunger in Medina.
🇸🇦 Saudi ArabiaPosted Oct 1, 2026633 views
Since 2023, our volunteer team has run the Sunday Shelf every Friday from the back of the parish hall. We started with 20 families, and now we feed 146 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 59% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 14 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Medina market and keep every receipt.
Each $35 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $1,550 goes:
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $310
• Refrigeration and electricity: $220
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,020
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Thank you all. We're at 25% now ($390). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward refrigeration and electricity.

Good luck, Rami. Gave what I could, wish it was more.
