Help Rahayu keep the Bread & Beans Kitchen pantry stocked
Rahayu runs a volunteer pantry feeding 83 families; this fund restocks shelves for the school holidays.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Sunday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 9 families, and now we feed 83 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 31% this school holidays, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 17 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Makassar market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $600 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $310
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $110
• Baby formula and diapers: $110
• Refrigeration and electricity: $70
If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

Hope it all works out, Rahayu. More neighborhoods should do this. I have a 9 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Love from Macon!
You're not alone. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Greetings from Arlington.
Shared it with a few friends. Thinking of Makassar.
Thinking of you, Rahayu. Shared this with my family. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Blessings.
