Since 2019, our volunteer team has run Neighbors' Pantry every Tuesday from the back of the parish hall. We started with 22 families, and now we feed 287 each week. Donations have dropped by about 39% this school holidays, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 11 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Lahore market and keep every receipt. Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week. I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday. Where the $400 goes: • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $160 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $140 • Baby formula and diapers: $65 • Refrigeration and electricity: $35 I hope life is good to you. - Rabia

  • you're not alone. More neighborhoods should do this. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Take care.

    • Good luck, Rabia. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money.

      • You're not alone, Rabia. Your post was clear and honest.
