After a torn ligament that needs reconstruction, Prasanna was cleared for cataract surgery, but the bill is more than we can manage.

Prasanna was diagnosed with a torn ligament that needs reconstruction in December. The surgeon at Colombo General Hospital recommended cataract surgery, and He is scheduled for April. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $600, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $450 short. my father has been in and out of Colombo General Hospital since December. The doctors say a torn ligament that needs reconstruction will get worse without cataract surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $600 is more than we can find. While we wait, Prasanna struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Recovery is expected to take about 5 weeks. During that time Prasanna won't be able to look after the children alone, so the costs keep growing. The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did. Where the $450 goes: • Hospital stay (5 nights): $270 • Travel and lodging for the family: $75 • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $105 Thanks for being kind about this.
