Prakash was diagnosed with a hip fracture that never healed properly in June. The surgeon at Mumbai University Hospital recommended palate reconstruction surgery, and He is scheduled for September. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,350, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $1,000 short.
my son has been in and out of Mumbai University Hospital since June. The doctors say a hip fracture that never healed properly will get worse without palate reconstruction surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,350 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Prakash struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Prakash won't be able to lift anything heavy, so the costs keep growing.
