Help Prakash keep the Bread & Beans Kitchen pantry stocked
Help keep a free food pantry open for neighbors in need in Toronto.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Wednesday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 8 families, and now we feed 375 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 60% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 11 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Toronto market and keep every receipt.
Each $30 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $3,450 goes:
β’ Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,450
β’ Fresh vegetables and fruit: $1,150
β’ Baby formula and diapers: $500
β’ Refrigeration and electricity: $350
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Take care, Prakash. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Wish I lived closer to Butwal so I could bring a meal. Greetings from Aberdeen.
