Portia is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a degree in social work at Accra Polytechnic, and is two terms away from graduating. She has worked as a delivery rider to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $650.
The registrar has said Portia can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Portia has a 3.9 average, and a department head has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Portia would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Portia isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.

• Final term tuition: $370
• Exam and lab fees: $50
• Textbooks and materials: $30
