Piper was diagnosed with an aortic valve defect in March. The surgeon at Manchester General Hospital recommended a partial thyroidectomy, and She is scheduled for June. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $4,200, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $3,150 short.
my mother has been in and out of Manchester General Hospital since March. The doctors say an aortic valve defect will get worse without a partial thyroidectomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $4,200 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Piper struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
