Pierre was diagnosed with a thyroid nodule that needs removal in June. The surgeon at Rennes University Hospital recommended spinal decompression surgery, and He is scheduled for September. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $7,500, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $5,300 short.
my son has been in and out of Rennes University Hospital since June. The doctors say a thyroid nodule that needs removal will get worse without spinal decompression surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $7,500 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Pierre struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 5 weeks. During that time Pierre won't be able to lift anything heavy, so the costs keep growing.
The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did.
Where the $5,300 goes:
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $1,650
• Hospital stay (5 nights): $2,550
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $250
• Post-operative medication: $120
• Physiotherapy sessions: $640
• Travel and lodging for the family: $90
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Best of luck. Hope the doctors have good news. My neighbor in Houston donated after I showed her your page.
Best of luck, Yves. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Thinking of Rennes.
