Philipp was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in February. The oncology team at Stuttgart Regional Medical Center has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in May. He will be away from work for about 7 weeks.
Philipp is 24, worked as a bank teller until February, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Stuttgart Regional Medical Center 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $10,400 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $6,250
• Scans and lab work: $1,500
• Transport to Stuttgart Regional Medical Center: $390
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $310
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,950
