Paulette was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in June. The oncology team at Kingston University Hospital has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in September. She will be away from work for about 8 weeks.
Paulette is 30, worked as a taxi driver until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Kingston University Hospital 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $2,150 goes:
• Scans and lab work: $200
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,700
• Transport to Kingston University Hospital: $250
