Since 2020, our volunteer team has run Community Pantry every Wednesday from the back of the parish hall. We started with 9 families, and now we feed 169 each week. Donations have dropped by about 46% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 6 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Tamale market and keep every receipt. Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week. I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday. Where the $550 goes: • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $250 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $170 • Baby formula and diapers: $60 • Refrigeration and electricity: $70 With deep gratitude, Papa

Updates from Papa

  1. Thank you all. We're at 20% now ($110). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward baby formula and diapers.

  2. 7% there. I met with the wholesaler and confirmed the amounts. Thank you.

  3. Wanted to say thank you properly. 7% funded and the first invoice got paid this week. - Papa

  • is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Papa.

    • Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale) comes first ($250) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Thanks for asking.

  • keep going. Great idea, hope you get there. My husband and I read this together.
