Help Otávio keep the Open Hands Pantry pantry stocked
Otávio runs a volunteer pantry feeding 68 families; this fund restocks shelves for the summer.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run Open Hands Pantry every Thursday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 13 families, and now we feed 68 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 54% this summer, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 9 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Feira de Santana market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $750 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $370
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $200
• Baby formula and diapers: $125
• Refrigeration and electricity: $55
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
