Onur was diagnosed with a thyroid nodule that needs removal in March. The surgeon at Kadıköy Regional Medical Center recommended laparoscopic cyst removal, and He is scheduled for June. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,200, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $1,100 short.
my brother has been in and out of Kadıköy Regional Medical Center since March. The doctors say a thyroid nodule that needs removal will get worse without laparoscopic cyst removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,200 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Onur struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Onur won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.
