Help Onur keep his home - 3 months behind on rent
A delayed insurance payout left Onur short on rent for 3 months; help us stay in our home.
🇹🇷 Istanbul, Istanbul, Türkiye1,254 views
Following a long illness in the family, Onur fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Monday a final eviction notice was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $850.
The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by June, the family must leave.
There are two young children at home. Moving would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
Onur has started working night deliveries, and is applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $850 goes:
• Rent arrears (3 months): $530
• Late fees and court costs: $55
• Utilities in arrears: $30
• First month of rent as a buffer: $235
