Help keep a free food pantry open for students and shift workers in Naivasha.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run the Sunday Shelf every Thursday from the back of the mosque courtyard. We started with 18 families, and now we feed 365 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 40% this summer, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 18 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Naivasha market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $350 goes:
• Refrigeration and electricity: $25
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $155
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $170
Thank you for reading my story.

Thanks for sharing this, Omondi. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Blessings.
This could happen to any of us. I'm in retail myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. All the best.
Take care, Omondi. It takes guts to ask. Well done. All the best.
