Olumide was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in February. The oncology team at Lagos University Hospital has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in April. He will be away from work for about 6 weeks. Olumide is 53, worked as a shop owner until February, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Lagos University Hospital 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
