Entebbe
Okello was diagnosed with severe cataracts in both eyes in August. The surgeon at Entebbe Regional Medical Center recommended palate reconstruction surgery, and He is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,150, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $850 short. my son has been in and out of Entebbe Regional Medical Center since August. The doctors say severe cataracts in both eyes will get worse without palate reconstruction surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,150 is more than we can find. While we wait, Okello struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Recovery is expected to take about 5 weeks. During that time Okello won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing. The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did. Where the $850 goes: • Travel and lodging for the family: $55 • Post-operative medication: $30 • Hospital stay (3 nights): $330 • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $350 • Physiotherapy sessions: $85 Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Hope things get better soon. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Thinking of Entebbe

      • Gave what I could, wish it was more. I'm in accounting myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Thinking of Entebbe.

        • Good luck, Joseph. Get well soon. God bless.

          • Looking forward to the next update. After 12 years in public service I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
