After a sudden layoff at the call centre, Okello fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Monday a court summons for non-payment was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $650. The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by October, the family must leave. There are three school-aged children at home.
