Help Novelette restart a small grocery stall in Montego Bay after floodwater
A small grocery stall in Montego Bay needs help replacing a cold-storage unit after floodwater.
Anywhere in the world1,288 views
For three years I have run a small grocery stall in Montego Bay. In August, floodwater took a cold-storage unit. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Wednesday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 12 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $1,450 goes:
• Replacing a cold-storage unit: $870
• Initial stock: fresh produce: $250
• Shop repairs and licensing: $180
• Working capital for the first month: $150
Thank you for reading my story.

sending love, Novelette. Hope this works out for you. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Thinking of Montego Bay.
Thinking of you and your family, Novelette. Your post was clear and honest. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. God bless.
is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Novelette
Sure. The biggest one is replacing a cold-storage unit, $870. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one.
Wishing you the best, Novelette. Hope the shop reopens soon. Greetings from Piraeus
