Baton Rouge
I earned a place in Grade 9 at Baton Rouge Girls' High School, and I couldn't be prouder. The school has a long list of things I need, including a laptop for the chemistry course, and a uniform. My mother works two jobs, and the list costs $750, which is more than we have. I love chemistry and want to become a teacher. A laptop will let me do coursework at home instead of waiting for library hours. I'll take care of everything you give me and I promise to work hard. I'll buy the items from the school's approved supplier and post photos of everything. Where the $750 goes: • Laptop: $490 • School uniform and shoes: $165 • Calculator, stationery and a school bag: $95 With deep gratitude, Nolan

Updates from Nolan

  1. Thank you all. We're at 31% now ($235). I'm honestly stunned. I met with the school supplier and confirmed the amounts.

So sorry you're going through this, Nolan. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like.

Sending good thoughts, Nolan. It takes guts to ask. Well done. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry
