Noah is facing an asylum application. The hearing is scheduled for August, and the filing fees and the lawyer's retainer come to $2,050. Three legal-aid offices have said their waiting lists are longer than the deadline.
Noah has all the paperwork ready, and a caseworker at a local immigrant rights clinic has confirmed that the case is valid.
If the deadline is missed Noah could lose the right to stay with the family and the job. The children were born here and this is the only home they know.
Funds cover only the filing fees, translations and attorney retainer.

Sure. The biggest one is attorney retainer, $1,400. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Good question.
