I make my living with my food truck. 10 weeks ago the fuel pump failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $150. Without the vehicle I earn nothing. I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask. I support my younger brothers and sisters. Before the breakdown I worked nine hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next six months if I can just get the vehicle working. I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here. I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update. Where the $150 goes: • fuel pump replacement (parts): $65 • Labor charges: $45 • Road tax and insurance renewal: $30 • Towing and inspection: $10 Thanks for reading all this. - Njoroge

Best of luck. This could happen to any of us. After 21 years in engineering I know how hard it's to ask for anything. All the best.

    • Thinking of you and your family, Njoroge. Hope the shop reopens soon. Take care.

Stay strong, Njoroge. I'd happily buy from you once you're back up.

        • Thanks for sharing this, Njoroge. Your post was clear and honest. Greetings from Rochester

          • Wishing you peace. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Thinking of Kampala.
