Nilmini was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in February. The oncology team at Jaffna Regional Medical Center has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in May. She will be away from work for about 6 weeks.
Nilmini is 27, worked as a cleaner at a hospital until February, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Jaffna Regional Medical Center 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.

• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $960
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $55
• Transport to Jaffna Regional Medical Center: $180
• Household costs while unable to work: $205
