Nihal was diagnosed with a cleft palate needing repair in August. The surgeon at Nuremberg University Hospital recommended hip replacement surgery, and She is scheduled for December. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $6,750, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $4,000 short.
my mother has been in and out of Nuremberg University Hospital since August. The doctors say a cleft palate needing repair will get worse without hip replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $6,750 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Nihal struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Nihal won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.
