Help Niamh pay for laparoscopic cyst removal at Cork Community Hospital
After a cleft palate needing repair, Niamh was cleared for laparoscopic cyst removal, but the bill is more than we can manage.

Niamh was diagnosed with a cleft palate needing repair in August. The surgeon at Cork Community Hospital recommended laparoscopic cyst removal, and She is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $7,250, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $5,100 short.
my mother has been in and out of Cork Community Hospital since August. The doctors say a cleft palate needing repair will get worse without laparoscopic cyst removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $7,250 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Niamh struggles with daily life and can't walk without help. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 3 weeks. During that time Niamh won't be able to walk without help, so the costs keep growing.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $5,100 goes:
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $1,900
• Hospital stay (2 nights): $1,450
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $500
• Post-operative medication: $400
• Physiotherapy sessions: $700
• Travel and lodging for the family: $150

Your post was clear and honest. I went through something like this 3 years ago and strangers helped me out. Love from Nijmegen!
