The gas account is 4 months behind. Ngozika received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on September unless $150 is paid. She had never been late before losing my job in May. Ngozika called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $10 first, which isn't available. The household includes two young children, and going through the cold months without gas isn't safe. We would also lose the ability to run the medical equipment at home. Ngozika is working on getting back on her feet, and wants to pay it forward once steady. The money will go directly to the utility provider, and I'll post the paid statement here. Where the $150 goes: • Electricity arrears: $90 • Reconnection and late fees: $20 • Down payment on a payment plan: $40 Thank you for reading my story.

  • Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Ngozika.

    • Sure. The biggest one is electricity arrears, $90. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one.
